Are Premature Ejaculation Pills Safe?

Sep 19, 2017 Premature Ejaculation

Premature ejcaculation is when a man orgasams before or within 90 seconds of intercourse.  The condition is often depicted as amusing in films such as, ‘Excited’, which is a comedy based on premature ejaculation.  Although watching someone come too quickly in films makes you laugh the reality is quite the opposite.  Confidence and relationships are shattered because successful intercourse doesn’t take place.   Young men are more prone to premature ejaculation but men of all ages can suffer from it.  There are two types of premature ejaculation - Primary and Secondary.  The former is a lifelong condition that starts when you are a teenager while the latter is often a response to psychological issues.

Causes Of Premature Ejaculation

Men who suffer from Primary premature ejaculation will have had the condition since the first time they had intercourse.  It is thought that genetic factors play a major role in this condition.  Other reasons for lifelong premature ejaculation can be attributed to a bad sexual experience when young.  Secondary Premature ejaculation is usually caused by psychological issues such having a new relationship after being celibate for a long time.  Some men assume they have the condition because they orgasm a lot sooner than they wish.  Medically, if you orgasm within 90 seconds of initiating intercourse then you need to seek treatment.

Treatment

There are three main types of treatment for premature ejaculation; training yourself you to quell your orgasm, talk therapy or selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors SSRIs.   Practical Help

Talk Therapy If your premature ejaculation is due to psychological or relationship problems you could visit a councillor.  Relationship therapy allows couples to discuss possible causes and ways in which to overcome the issue.  Cognitive behavior therapy could help individuals to overcome performance anxiety and change the way they approach intercourse. Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors SSRIs Priligy is a SSRIs which slows down the rate of ejaculation.  It contains Dapoxetine which is an antidepressant.  You take 30mg between one and three hours before intercourse.  It also relaxes you and takes away some of the anxiety associated with sex.  Antidepressants are used to treat a wide of conditions including erectile dysfunction.

Priligy

As with all medication, Priligy has some very common side effects including; feeling dizzy, headache and feeling sick.  In the short term, Priligy is safe to take but should not be considered for long-term use as the antidepressant can cause; weight gain, skin conditions, lower sex drive, nausea and upset stomach.
